The S/XRT Conservatory offers student actors world class training and so much more! Over the course of the program students receive :
- M.F.A.-quality training in 3 months - not 3 years!
- Actor training geared to discovering yourself as an artist, not a product. Learn how to work from your own unique, artistic instinct - break free of cliches and other peoples’ definition of what your success should be!
- Clear, organized tools from world renowned disciplines that serve to shape your own, personal technique.
- An inspiring environment filled with students who hunger to grow, thirst to be pushed to levels never thought possible, and above all else, are kind, generous artists who yearn for community and collaboration.
- An artistic community. Whether its our monthly XRT Family Brunch/Bar-B-Q or teaming up to paint, build and design Location X, or excursions around L.A.’s artistic institutions, our students will become part of an artistic family made up of theatre lovers, supporters, faculty, administrators, artists & alumni.
- Affordable, elite training. With early bird discounts (25% off!), flexible payment plans, work study programs, and available scholarships - no student hungry to grow will be turned away based on financial difficulties.
- An XRT mentor who will guide you through your training and help you navigate the choppy waters of the profession.
- A Certificate of Completion from Studio XRT.
- A copy of “The Specific & Improvisational Actor.” This guide organizes your actor toolbox and ensures you can take the discoveries made in the Studio with you in your professional life.
- A copy of “The Studio XRT Daily Acting Journal.” We train our students to never stop expanding their personal creative boundaries. This journal is a companion for our students as they continue this exploration on their life-long journey of actor training and artistic discovery.
- Headshots, reel footage, and a voice demo CD. At the completion of their training, our students enter the profession armed with the necessary materials to showcase their vocal, physical, and artistic talents.
- Professional opportunities. From student productions to Spring & Winter industry showcases open to current students & alumni, S/XRT continually works to provide professional exposure to our students. As a Teaching Theatre, students are encouraged to audition for the Repertory Company and perform alongside their teachers/mentors.
- Industry support. XRT’s Speaker Series brings our students face-to-face with some of the industry’s most successful talent. Previous guests have included: John Stamos (ER), Topher Grace (That 70’s Show), Dave Lyons (Day One), Parminder Nagra (ER), Danny Sussman (Manager), Neil Merron (Producer, Chicago), Kunaal Nyar (Big Bang Theory), and many more…
- Pride from actively working to improve our community. Studio XRT students volunteer two hours per month to our community outreach program, Community X.
- An artistic home for life. Location X studio space is available for our current and former students to rehearse in - as well as multiple performance venues for you to showcase your talents and artistry.
