WORK STUDY PROGRAM

Work Study - Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I get into the work-study program?

Anyone is eligible for the work-study program: In a time of world-wide economical downfall, we cannot afford to rob ourselves of investing in the most driven and hungry actors in LA and we’re hoping you’re one of them.  (Please note: the work-study program requires a payment with credit card).

Q: How is the work-study program structured?

After a minimum deposit, each student gets a $15 credit per hour worked. The scheduled hours are set over the month, and are broken out evenly over four weeks. At the end of each week your credit card will be charge for the week’s courses, minus the credits hours worked.

Q: How many hours can I work off in a month?

After your minimum deposit, you may work as many hours as you’d like.

Q: Can I choose my own hours?

Once accepted into the work-study program, you will meet with the Dean to determine a schedule that fits both your, and XRT’s, needs. Office hours are Monday - Friday, 10 am to 6 pm.

Q: What things will I be doing during my Work Study hours?

Work-Study participants will work close with the Dean to match their skills and interest to XRT needs. XRT has several administrative departments that need assistance: Studio Affairs, Human Resources, Development, Finance, Marketing, and Facilities.

Q: Do I still have to volunteer for Community X if I’m in the work-study program?

Yes. We believe that giving back to our community is an integral part of the XRT artits. We ask each student to devote a minimum of 2 hours per month to the Community X program.
