Kathryn Korosi

Position(s): Company Member (Actor)
Contact: kkorosi@xrtc.org
Education: Born into a family of artists and natural musicians, Kathryn began her arts education at a wee young age. Since TV didn’t exist in the 80‘s (at least that’s what her mom told her), the family entertained each other with homemade stage shows, which sometimes consisted of Kathryn playing basketball in her ballet leotard. She first performed onstage at age 6, and has spent the last 22 years cultivating her craft as an actor, director and collaborative theatre artist. She attended performing arts high school in her hometown of Atlanta before moving to Chicago and earning her BFA in Theatre Performance at Roosevelt University. Kat moved to LA in pursuit of further inspiration and exploration of her artistic identity in the realms of theatre and film. She is a graduate of the XRT’s first Conservatory and Master Class program, and is committed to continuing her education through every possible creative endeavor.
Professional Experience: Kat has appeared in a broad spectrum of stage and screen projects and still most enjoys creating from scratch. After college she co-founded the all-female performance art spectacular The SuperCool Slüüts of America!, which wrote and performed original works on Chicago’s fringe. She co-wrote and starred in a performance piece with the Slüüts that was later adapted to a short film entitled “Greater Than Less Than: Level 2.” Kat played the Euro in this “rhythmic and glittering master/slave story about international economics”, which was an official selection at the New Beijing International Film Festival as well as the Cannes Film Festival’s Short Film Corner. Kat made her directorial debut at the Oracle Theater in Chicago with Jean-Claude van Itallie’s Interview, and her cinematic directorial debut on YouTube with “Mustache Emporium.” That’s right, “Mustache Emporium.”
