XRT is a home for artists and art supporters.
X Repertory Theatre, LA’s Premier Teaching Theatre, is looking to expand its leadership team and add to its dynamic Repertory Company of passionate, dedicated and inspired theatre artists. We are searching for teaching artists and administrators who enthusiastically embrace the challenge of building a theatre company and acting conservatory program from the ground, up. In only its first year, XRT has fast become one of LA’s most unique organizations. Its highly qualified teaching artists have created a rigorous, comprehensive actor-training program while its repertory company has produced a variety of works and events at our beautiful 10,000 sq. ft. space; staged readings, our immensely popular Speaker Series, our Student Cabaret shows; workshops of established up-and-coming playwrights; and, of course, full theatrical productions, the first of which, the ensemble-generated piece Even Yet, Its Mighty Daring Sings, introduced LA audiences to not only an amazing venue, but also a new theatrical voice in XRT’s resident company.
Please Note: XRT is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization that was born out of the belief that when kindred spirits come together in service of something great, there is nothing we can’t accomplish. From the early days of sandblasting and painting Location X to the launching of our new Conservatory program, this has been a labor of love for each and every member of XRT. Although the positions we are currently looking to fill do not offer pay at this time, we remain committed to developing a competitive pay structure that ensures a home that will serve the creative and financial needs of all who make up X.

Studio XRT Faculty members are some of the most dynamic instructors working in Los Angeles. They are masters in their respective disciplines but remain, at heart, life-long students of their craft. XRT’s Internship Program seeks the country’s most promising, developing talent to work side-by-side with the professionals at XRT. Interns will receive credit towards Studio XRT classes, a hands-on education in starting an ambitious theater company and non-profit business, and potential performance opportunities. Path to Company Membership:
Prospective members can apply for company membership. New members are inaugurated on a rolling basis. In very rare circumstances, when the artistic/administrative excellence of a prospective company member is well known to the Membership Committee, a fast-track to membership can be created.
Once a prospective member has completed application, the Membership Committee reviews application. Unanimous vote of approval by the Membership Committee is required to inaugurate a new member.
Pre-requisites for application:
- Established Administrative/ Faculty/Artistic role held for at least 3 months
- Established willingness to fundraise and generally “go the extra mile”
- Excellent theatrical training and experience
- Great sense of humor, calm under pressure, artistic excellence, kindness, collaborative spirit, compassion, and belief in XRT mission.
